Computer Generated Imagery (CGI) has replaced or merged with traditional photography assignments. The biggest reason is the cost savings with CGI versus the old studio photography. More variations and ease of revisions , the traditional studio shot has to be left standing or set up for the duration of the image creation and also during changes and revisions. When the image is created in the digital studio the changes can be made years into the future, where it is very costly and unpractical and maybe impossible to recreate in the real world.
